Pumps And Gloss: Fall Luxury Shoe Picks

The summer will be over before you know it, so it is time for us to focus on Fall fashions.

You know that shoes are loved on this blog (hence the first part of the name) 😉  Joyful Radiance and I always send each other Neiman Marcus links for shoes that we love and adore, yet cannot afford…well, if we want to be homeless and not pay our mortgage, we could get them LOL.  Anyhoo, Christian Louboutin is one of our favorite shoe brands.  Each season, he comes out with some gems that we drool over.

Here are our Fall 2008 Luxury shoe picks:

The first pick is the Open-Toe Passementerie Pump.

Christian Louboutin Open Toe Passementerie Pump

Christian Louboutin Open Toe Passementerie Pump

The detail on this sexy pump is exquisite.  The word “passementerie” meant lace in early French, but now means designs made from silk cords (braiding) or bead work. I can see the design on a lamp shade and draperies.  The red color is very festive.  A definite 5 out of 5.

Christian Louboutin Armadillo Satin Dorsay

This rouge, pleated satin pump is the hotness!!  I would not have to wear these shoes.  I would put them on a pedestal and gaze upon them all the day.  I would pair with an updated sheath dress in Royal Violet. (So First Lady!!) 🙂

Glossy Friday ~ March 21, 2008

Happy Friday Glossy Ones,

You know how we do it on Fridays…

FRIDAY FREAK

Ray J. is back with “Sexy Can I.” Gotta give it to Ray – he has been coming out with jams in recent times (“One Wish,” “What I Need“). While T-Pain caught flack for commenting on Ray’s “meat,” we have to agree with T-Pain 100%! LOL! Ray can get it at minute 2:45, getting his D’Angelo on! Yum!

FRIDAY FLASHBACK

Speaking D’Angelo, let’s go back and peep one of my fave videos of all time for very obvious reasons. Whenever I watch “How Does It Feel,” I have this overwhelming feeling of wanting to bump the camera down! Big ups to D’Angelo for giving us Ladies some eye candy!

I heard this on a Russ Parr “Wrong Song” mix last week and wow, it took me back. Here’s Oaktown 357 with “Juicy.” If you want to see it in color, click here.

SEXY SHOE PICK

Decisions, decisions!

You will be killing them softly in these Jessica Simpsons. The “Jacie” has the shine, the style and the 4.5 inch stilleto heel to turn heads. I couldn’t decide which color is the hottest – tell us which color you would rock! 🙂 I would definitely invest in the black pair, but the other two colors are simply dazzling. I would love to see Jess do a chain of shoe stores.

SWIM SUIT SEASON

Are you longing for summer like I am? This has got to the be coldest and longest winter ever! SIDEBAR – If you haven’t read “The Coldest Winter Ever” by Sister Soulja, please believe it is a great read. An urban tale of life’s ups and downs, I could not put it down when I read it a few years ago. Ok, sorry, back to the matter at hand….I plan on dragging Mix and Sen to the beach as soon as it gets hot. Here is a darling ensemble I plan on getting from Old Navy:

oldnavy.comoldnavy.comoldnavy.com

How cute! Green is my fave color, so I’m too thrilled! LOL!

metrostyle.com

Or step out on the beach like a Top Model in this tank with matching bottom – that’s Dani from ANTM btw. I love it paired with the bracelets.

Think you don’t have the body for a swim suit? Then get a plain one piece suit and pair it with a cute cover up – it will look like you have on a dress:

oldnavy.com

I love breezy black and white prints for the summer.

How cute is this one!

I would wear this one as a cover up and later on, pair it with some jeans. Old Navy has cover ups that go up to a size 3X. No need to be ashamed to go to the beach this year Ladies – you do you! 🙂

AEROBIC STRIP TEASE

If you have been with us from the beginning, you know Sensual Element’s first post was about Carmen Electra’s strip tease. Here is a clip of the routine that you can use for exercise and for turning things up with your lover.

10 SEX CRAVINGS ALL GUYS HAVE from Cosmopolitan.com

1. HE WANTS A GIRL WHO CAN TURN HERSELF ON
Women, as you know, need time to get revved up. Although your man may be more than willing to pull out all the stops to get you hot, he wouldn’t mind if you gave yourself a running start. “A number of women still believe that it’s solely a man’s job to arouse them,” says Georgia sex therapist Gloria Brame, PhD. “To have a really fulfilling sexual experience though, you have to put some effort into getting yourself into a sexual state of mind.”To give your libido a boost, draw on the same sources of inspiration you use during solo self-pleasuring missions. Once his seduction scheme begins, close your eyes and fantasize about a hot encounter you had with your man…or even some other dude. “It’s totally okay to think about another sexual partner when you’re trying to turn yourself on,” reassures Brame. “You just might not want to tell your boyfriend about it.”
2. HE WANTS SEX TO BE FUN
Unfortunately, real-life romps aren’t as seamless as they are in the movies. “Things don’t always go smoothly during sex — some positions don’t work, and odd noises happen,” says Gardos. “If you get hung up on a mishap, it will ruin the mood. But if you can both laugh, it becomes a light bonding moment.”Chas,* 28, agrees. “One night I tried a new move that wasn’t executed properly, and my girl hit her head on the nightstand! She didn’t hurt herself, so we could joke about it, and then we got back to what we were doing.”Frisky fun is about more than damage control though. Make a silly bet to be paid off in sexual favors or play a board game naked in bed and agree that the loser has to grant the winner one lusty request. Names have been changed.
3. HE WANTS YOU TO DROP HINTS
When it comes to pleasing the women in their lives, every man wishes he had ESP (extrasexual perception). But the truth is, your libidinous longings can be baffling. “That’s why a guy loves it when you’re able to guide him without barking out orders,” says Gardos. So when giving erotic instruction, throw in some positive reinforcement. “Tell him how good it feels when he does something right, or remind him of a technique that always gets you off,” suggests Brame. “If he’s not giving you enough foreplay, ask him to use his hand or mouth to warm you up, saying that you want to draw out the experience.”
4. HE WANTS TO WATCH
For men, what they see is almost as good as what they get, so make sure to give him an eyeful. “One time during sex, my girlfriend led me over to a mirror so we could see ourselves in action,” remembers Tyler, 21. “I found it really sexy, but what made it hotter was how into it she was.”Another way to turn him on with sight: Keep some clothes on. Sometimes men prefer when you leave a little to the imagination. “Sexy lingerie can be as arousing — or more so — as being nude, because it builds anticipation,” says Bob Berkowitz, PhD, coauthor of When Men Stop Having Sex.More great views: you in girl-on-top position or, if you’re feeling brave, touching yourself in front of him.
5. HE WANTS YOU TO BE NAUGHTY
Even if you’re a bad girl at heart, you might hold back with your guy. “Women are often afraid to get naughty in a relationship, because they don’t want to shatter any ‘good girlfriend’ image he has or they don’t want him to think they’re weird,” explains Brame. “But men want to see that no-holds-barred side of you — they just don’t want to offend you by asking for it.”What dirty-girl tricks fit the bill? Pretty much anything that shows him how much you like sex and how much you want it with him, says Gardos. To let him know you’re into him, grab his butt hard when he’s climaxing or gently nip his shoulder. You may also want to do something unexpected, like initiating a new position or trying a passion prop. “My girlfriend and I were out shopping when she suggested we check out this sex-toy shop,” Nick, 27, says. “We ended up buying this thing called a penis sleeve, which is basically a thick, bumpy condom. Not only was it fun to use, but I loved how eager she was to try it.”
6. HE WANTS A “WOW, WHAT WAS THAT?” EXPERIENCE
To separate yourself from the pack, you’ll need to pull a move so wild, he won’t be able to stop thinking about it the next day. “If you’ve mastered one particular technique that’s really hot and different, the entire erotic experience will stand out in his mind,” explains psychologist Joel Block, PhD, author of The Art of the Quickie. Now, you don’t have to bust out a complicated trick best used by yoga instructors — just tweak an old standby, say, switching between oral sex and intercourse…with him blindfolded. You may also want to come up with your own signature mouth move. “When my ex-girlfriend would go down on me, she took her time exploring the whole area with her tongue,” remembers Peter, 32. “And she did cool stuff with it, like alternating between using the flat part and then covering the same territory with just the tip. It was an entirely different sensation!”
7. HE WANTS TO MIX THINGS UP
Repetition can make once-hot sack sessions seem ho-hum. So be open to varying things in bed. Any change in speed, pressure, or position will make the act more interesting and pleasurable. “Variety keeps him in a heightened state of arousal because he never knows what to expect,” says Block.During foreplay, wrap your fist around his member (with lube!), moving it up and down with long, smooth strokes. Then add your other hand, and gently twist both hands in opposing directions. When you get to intercourse, start off slowly in missionary. Next, rest your feet on his shoulders for deeper thrusting. Finally, roll over, and let him enter you from behind.
8. HE WANTS NOOKY OUT OF NOWHERE
“You’ll win big sexual points with your guy if you spring sex on him out of the blue,” says Gardos. “It gives him a huge ego boost by reinforcing the fact that you’re really hot for him.”For a spontaneous seduction, ask him to pull over to a deserted spot for a roadside romp when you’re driving home one night. Or at a party, take him into a back bedroom or closet. Joe, 23, remembers a naughty surprise attack at a black-tie affair. “My date and I were sitting down at dinner, and she slid her hand under the table and began to pleasure me — right in the middle of the meal! It was so spontaneous and unexpected. I could barely sit still,” he recalls.
9. HE WANTS TO TAKE YOU
The best way to bring out the sexy beast in your guy? Initiate some take-me-I’m-yours action. “He’d love to be raw and animalistic with you, but he needs to know you want it too,” says Brame. “Kiss him seductively and then pull away, saying that if he wants more, he can come and get it.” During the act, you can also tell him “harder” or “faster” if you feel like he’s handling you with kid gloves.Dave, 24, was totally psyched when a woman asked to be ravaged. “An ex-girlfriend lay down on the bed and begged me to rip off her clothes, which I did. The sex was great, but letting me tear her shirt in half was the best part because it was passionate and intense.”
10. HE WANTS TO DO NOTHING SOMETIMES
On the flip side, occasionally men prefer it when you take over. Lying back while a chick has her way with him is an ultimate guy fantasy.Just ask Brian, 26: “I was dating a woman who was sort of a bookworm. But when I got her into bed for the first time, she was wild. Before I could even try to take off her clothes, she threw me back on the bed and blindfolded me with her bra,” he remembers. “Then she gave me the best oral sex ever. I didn’t have to lift a finger.”For a softer approach, Brame suggests treating your man to allover titillation: Have him lie on the bed naked. Then, starting at one foot, kiss and lick your way up his leg and along the crease where his thigh meets his torso. Next, move to his side, up to his neck, and down to his main event. When you’re ready for intercourse, treat him to reverse-cowgirl so he can’t help you, even if he wants to. Trust us: The payback will be awesome.

Stuff Women Need For Spring

Spring is nigh. I know you are looking at your winter wardrobe and you cannot wait to pack them up for storage.

Everyone needs a hip trench (all-weather) coat. I totally love the asymmetrical collar and masculine plaid that create a feminine look.

Soia & Kyo Pleated Plaid Coat - Nordstrom.com

Polka-Dot is wonderful, which is why I love this shades of green polka dot dress. The colors are fresh and spring-like. Makes me more excited about the season.

Maggy London Geometric Print Babydoll Dress - Nordstrom.com

Alexander McQueen’s Pink drape dress intrigues me. I like the dress because it is very bold and eye-catching. Not sure where I would wear this to, but I think I want this dress! 🙂

I do not wear much jewelry except for wedding rings and a miscellaneous bracelet here and there. Actually, I love bracelets, but I do not own many, but I definitely want this pave wide cuff bracelet. (Just delicious!!)

Nadri Woven Pave Wide Cuff Bracelet

Clutch purses are my favorite, especially from Banana Republic. BR has not sold an acceptable clutch since 2005, so I am loving the yellow lizard-embossed clutch…. a great accessory for spring/summer.

Flatiron Embossed Lady Clutch - Banana Republic

Ok, ok, so you know every woman needs a Christian Louboutin (any time of the year). Everyone knows I love a shimmer and sheen.

Christian Louboutin Prive paillette platforms - Net-a-Porter

Honorable mention for Spring: Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. Darrel’s Black/Yellow/Green pumps. I gotta have this shoe because of the the wonderful island of Jamaica’s flag colors, the land of my birth. Would I wear them, probably not, but that does not mean I should not have them! 😉

Spring is Springing

I do not mind cool weather, I just do not like cold weather. I swear that this winter has been the coldest on record. (probably not) 😉 I am totally looking forward to Spring.  Spring time is pedicure season, which means SANDALS & PEEP TOE PUMPS!!!

Christian Louboutin always keeps his shoes interesting. I am curious who was the inspiration for this shoe: a silver lace-up slingback. I do not think I would wear this shoe, but I am sure there are plenty of ladies out there that would.

Christian Louboutin Lace-Up Oxford - Source NM.com

I love green in most shades. These Nine West special occasion slingback in a medium green satin is adorable. The heel is 4.5 inches, therefore you must have beaucoup de confidence! I know Joyful Radiance will love this shoe. 🙂

Luxious SlingBack - Source: 9West.com

Nine West also has a delightful leather kitten-heeled slingback in mid-tone green. I would pair this shoe with a classic sheath dress.

I want to give an honorable mention to Marc by Marc Jacobs Purple suede peep-toe pumps with silver stones. My friend, Renita, loves purple and would want these shoes badly. I love the classic yet chic look.

I love the shimmer and shine of it all. My favorite of the season:

Stuart Weitzman Luxury Evening Sandal. I have a couple weddings to attend this summer and you might see me rocking these captivating sandals. I do not think these shoes are made for walking, so you may not see me wearing them on the dance floor.

Are you all looking forward to Spring?

A QUICK HISTORY LESSON ON VALENTINE’S DAY

from Wikipedia.com

Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine’s cards, or offering candy. It is very common to present flowers on Valentine’s Day. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of “valentines.” Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. The mid-nineteenth century Valentine’s Day trade was a harbinger of further commercialized holidays in the United States to follow. The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas. The association estimates that women purchase approximately 85 percent of all valentines.

GOD’S DEFINITION OF LOVE

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.   ~ I Corinthians 13:4-8

LOVE IS…ACCORDING TO THE SIMMPSONS

EIGHT HATEFUL THINGS WOMEN DO TO EACH OTHER

I got this through e-mail, so the author is unknown – if anyone knows who wrote this, please let us know! 🙂

It’s become the silent emotional killer among women. Women who are downright mean, malicious and disrespectful with each other. This trend is creating havoc in our relationships with each other, for it strikes the core of sisterhood. Real sisterhood can only exist when respect and trust stand unshakeable. In this particular, most men are quite opposite to us. For a man, a brother is a brother. However, what is most disturbing about our malicious ways is that we are passing on a legacy of a broken sisterhood to our daughters. Girls that are mean and catty are usually this way because their understanding is that this is a normal part of femaleness. They grow up to become mean and catty women who perpetuate a diseased sisterhood. To break this cycle we each need to make a conscious effort to validate all women. Be their friends or not.
Otherwise, we will continue to find ourselves moving within circles of female hostility, suspicion, and pain. Here is my list of the most detestable practices that we need to discontinue in order to heal our sisterhood:

1. Talking about each other – You are really not her friend if what you
have to say about her is so bad you can’t say it in front of her. If you
are a real friend you should be able to tell her your concerns for her
life to her face. If you have the need to tell others, but you haven’t
found the time to tell her – red lights should be flashing. Believe it
or not, gossiping is not an intrinsic part of being female. Women who
gossip do it not because it’s a woman-thing, but because they want to
elevate themselves and put other women in a place of inferiority.
Gossiping is just another symptom of deeper insecurities.

2. Fighting for men
– One of the most undignified things that any woman
can do is to fight, argue, or curse another woman over a man. It’s a
disgusting trend that used to be a school girl thing, but today adult
women are doing it too. If both of you are in conflict – because his
choice is not clear – then that means that he’s really not into any of
you. He’s probably playing both of you. That man really does not deserve
love or attention from either one of you.  Let him go.

3. Joining female gangs – Women who make you feel unwelcome and unwanted within their circle of friends are not to be trusted. Women cliques have
become common in the workplace, at church, in the neighborhood. Cliques
are the dwelling place of insecure women. Women who join cliques are
seeking refuge from their own lack of confidence by cocooning themselves
within this circle of supposed exclusivity. Again, the need to belong
to, or be part of a clique is also a sign of deeper insecurities.
Beware, cliques are usually encouraged and thrive on a type of gang mentality.

4. Undermining each other – Beware of any woman who can never celebrate your accomplishments with you. It could be a new boyfriend, a promotion,
an award, a new job, a new acquisition, weight loss. If she has nothing
positive to say to you about it, does not show emotional support, or
chooses to remain silent she is not a true friend. Real friends know how
to recognize and genuinely rejoice for our successes with pride.

5. Competing against each other – You need to get this straight. There
will always be another woman with nicer hair, a more caring husband or
boyfriend, better behaved children, a better paying job, a bigger house,
a more fashionable wardrobe – there will always be some woman with more
of what you don’t have. Consequently, the only person that you need to
compete against is yourself. Strive to be the best that you can be – for
you. Competing against other women to prove yourself superior is a
financial and emotional drainer. Because of this mindless competition we
become mean, envious and hypocritical. It is pointless.

6. Disrespecting boundaries – To survive peacefully every relationship
and every friendship must have clear boundaries. Good relationships
operate within margins of respect. Within this level of respect, privacy
and intimacy are keywords. Yes, you are my friend, but that doesn’t give
me the right to walk into your bedroom or your kitchen, unbeknownst to
you, and help myself to your stuff. I don’t do this not because you
won’t allow me to, but because I respect your privacy and your things.
Consequently, we both need to know and respect each other’s levels of
privacy and intimacy.

7. Crossing boundaries – This is similar to the above; the only
difference is that my respect of your boundaries should never depend on
my friendship with you. We need to respect women for the simple fact
that they are women. If she is a woman she is a sister. Period.
Therefore, from that understanding I will have the utmost respect for
her children, her man, her opinions, her choices, and for her as a
person. It amazes me how women are quick to disrespect another sister’s
boundaries, but feel offended if another woman does to them the same
exact thing. Honestly, that type of inconsistent behavior can only be
credited to some form of mental illness.

8. Exploiting our friendships – This is a major one. Why are you
friends? Do you only remember her being around whenever she could get
something from you? It doesn’t even have to be material. It could just
be your time or your positive energy. Does she happen to be always on
the receiving side, with you dishing out ton loads of yourself or your
stuff? Or is she your friend because of what you represent? It could be
that your husband’s position or yours, your possessions, your talent,
whatever, represents some form of achievement. Is she a friend because
that link to you places her on a higher platform? In a real friendship
appreciation, support, and loyalty must be reciprocal.

Have a wonderful week!

Joyful 2008!

Hello Glossy Ones!

Happy New Year and all that good stuff!  I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season as much as I did.  While I didn’t have a whole two weeks off like some people, I enjoyed my holiday time off all the same.

Since we at P&G are getting back into the groove, no formatting from me today.  Just straight blogging! 🙂

Let’s talk about my great Christmas gifts!  Yippee – I must have been a really good girl because I was blessed with such awesome gifts!  First off, I have FINALLY joined the iPod revolution!

apple.com

My hubby really spoiled me and got me the green (my fave color) iPod nano.  I love, love, love it!!!!  I started loading songs Christmas day and as it stands, I have over 400 songs on it already.  I found a very cool and slender speaker for it at Target for $15.00 and the sound quality is excellent.  So I put the iPod, the cool leather case hubby got for it, the ear buds and the speaker inside a make up bag (got it from BBW and it says “SPF-Stay Pretty Forever” – so cute) and carry it in my bag to work.

sprint.com

Hubby surprised me with this Palm Centro too!  Yummy and I chatted about about this phone when I initially posted it last month.  The phone is a small size and if you wear fake nails, this is not the phone for you!  The buttons are on the small side, but still very functional.  SO MANY great features on this phone, I don’t even know where to begin!  Great access to e-mail, four instant messenger programs, including Yahoo and AOL, awesome On Demand features that let you check the news, weather, entertainment, and even TV Guide, and a Call Tone feature where you buy a song clip to be played when people call you.  So if you are special enough to have my number, you will hear “Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder playing while the phone rings on my end.  I haven’t bought a case for it, so it gets carried in one of my Coach wristlets – it’s a perfect fit.

coach.com

My girl Dani got me the greatest gifts ever, including this Coach signature frame keyfob.  Dani got me black on black with the white stitch, which matches my Coach hobo and shoes perfectly!

sephora.com

I got a number of gift cards – Bath and Body Works, Macy’s and Nordstrom to name a few.  I used the Nordstrom gift card to get the Amazing Grace perfume, which I absolutely love!

No pics of what my folks got me – a fly suit for work, gift cards plus money, and shoes.  They even bought a stocking full of toys for my pup, which have all been chewed to shreds!

Switching gears, the only song that I am really jamming right now is “Falsetto” by The Dream.  “Ooo, Ooo, Baby, I, I, I!”  Love it!

neimanmarcus.com

My first must have shoe for 2008 is the Nanette Lepore Snake-Embossed T-Strap.  Four inches high and I love shimmer of the snakeskin against the neutral color.

Gotta leave my Glossy Ones with a Word to carry you all through the week.  Short, but powerfl clip – Martha Munizzi singing “I Know The Plans I Have For You.”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

~ Jeremiah 29:11

Have a Wonderful Week!

Glossy Monday Variety ~ 12/03/2007

Hey Glossy Ones,

Happy December!

I sit here all bundled up because my cold turned in to a sinus infection.  Can you believe that I have been sick for the whole month of November?!  Ugh, it hurt me SO bad that I couldn’t get out on Black Friday.  Hopefully, I will be able to get out and shop with Mix and Sen – I know they must be half way done with their Christmas shopping by now!

MONDAY MELODIES

P&G Reader D-Dub has requested Alicia Keys’ new song, “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” (above).  I’m really digging this song too.  D-Dub also pointed out that Alicia and Common are in this video together, as well as in Common’s video “I Want You” (below).  Common is SO fine!  Thanks D-Dub!

MONDAY FLASHBACK

Speaking of Common, here is my all time favorite song by him, “Come Close” featuring MJB.

SHIFT HAPPENS

I received this link through e-mail and I found it completely fascinating.  I encourage all of you to take the time to watch it.

The video was created by Karl Fisch and modified by Scott McLeod.

MONDAY CHRISTMAS MELODY

For the month of December, I will share a Christmas song to help spread the holiday cheer. 🙂

Mix Maven posted the orginal version of “This Christmas” by the late, great Donny Hathaway (any of you know anything about “Where is the Love?”) last week.  Here is Chris Brown’s version from the movie of the same title.  I’m told it was a good and cute movie that will become a holiday favorite.  I’ll be going to see it as soon as I can!

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING FOR MY FOLKS

I got started on my post today and almost forgot that I told you all last week that I would share what I plan on getting my parents for Christmas.  Here goes…..

I don’t know about any of you, but my Father is the HARDEST person EVER to shop for, be it Birthday (could it be because he’s a Taurus?), Father’s Day or Christmas.  My Dad is a BIG sports fan and player – believe it or not, my Dad will be 60 next year and he actively (and competitively, trash talk and all) plays tennis and basketball.

I have already bought many a basketball, tennis racquet, gymshoes, etc.  But when I got my Mom some Jordan’s for Mother’s Day this year, I could have sworn a saw a smidge of jealousy in his eyes. 🙂  So check out the Jordan gymshoes that I am debating on getting my Dad this year:

I am leaning towards the last two pair.  I’ll probably order a long sleeve Jordan tee and be done with Dad. Whew!

On to the sunshine of my life, my Mommy.  Here are a few ideas I have in mind for “my girl”:

Now Mom has asked for Adidas wear.  She is an avid walker and loves the fit of Adidas jogging suits.  I’m not going to post any Adidas stuff here because there is a lot to choose from, but check out this link to JCPenny’s to see what they have to offer.

My Mom has a Burberry purse with matching boots.  I was thinking these cashmere ear muffs would be so cute!

tiffanys.com

I always try to give Mommy a piece of jewelry.  I think this Tiffany bracelet is so pretty.  I love how the heart is integrated in the bracelet.  This is a definite gift for Mom this year.  The Tiffany store is always crowded beyond belief during the holiday season – so much so that a line is formed inside the store for help.  I will order this online and have Mom’s first initial engraved on the back.

Still debating on what else I could get Mom, so brain storming is still in effect.  I’ll keep you all updated.

MONDAY PRAISE – The Christmas Edition

I love, love, love Vanessa Williams’ version of “What Child Is This” – jazzy!

Let us remember the real meaning of Christmas!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ~ Isaiah 9:6

Have  a wonderful week!

Sensual Element’s Wish List

 Happy Holidays!!!

Wow, it seems as though the time is just flying by that it is almost the end of 2007.  Well, Glossy Ones, I truly hope everyone ate well during the Thanksgiving holiday as well as had a productive shopping day the day afterward.  Like my cohorts, I, too, am posting my wish list for the holiday season.

Here is my list:

Shoes

I love to cook and make everything easy.  I love this slow cookers especially since you can go turn it on before you leave home in the morning and come home to a meal ready for eating.  I can’t figure out why I never had one in the first place.  It’s a hassle to come home and figure out what you want to eat when it could be cooking while you’re at work.

dereon.com

I was at the House of Dereon website and this is on the cover, but I saw it first in Vibe.  I love the dress that Beyonce is wearing.  I could ROCK that dress.  This is truly a wish because it is not being sold on the website.  I checked every link on the page, but I am putting this on my wish anyway.

 shoe-grey.jpg

I can not believe that I have grey suits, but no shoes to set it off.  So these grey shoes from JCPenny are nice for the work day.

All of my friends know I love me some Bath and Body Works.  I even got my boyfriend to use the plugins at his house.  So this lovely basket is nice for those long days at the office or if you just want to relax and enjoy a NICE HOT BATH.  I also will take Bath and Body Works gift cards.

season-5.jpg

I couldn’t post without having a sexy item.  Well, I took a different approach since this is my Christmas wish list.  I absolutely love “Sex in the City”.  I can not wait for he movie to be released in May. Yipppppeeeeeeee!!!!  In order to complete my collection, I need seasons 2, 5 and 6 part 1.  A lot of places are still sold out.

I need a wallet for my purse and I love this wristlet.  I have checked out the wallets and the one I want costs almost as much as my purse!

I don’t get to the movies that often this year, but I do enjoy a good movie every now and then.  A gift card helps especially at the concession stand.  It costs more to eat in the movie theatre than watch the movie itself.

I wish everyone a Safe and Merry Holiday.

Mix Maven’s Christmas Wish List

Hey Pumps and Glossy Ones,

Mix Maven is feeling refreshed from the Thanksgiving break. Thankfully, the dinner went well and I was nice and full.

I enjoy Christmas. Even though, I do not always decorate my home for Christmas, the season is held very closely in my heart.

My favorite Christmas song ever is “This Christmas” by Donny Hathaway. No one, and I mean NO ONE, sings this song as good he did. (Ok, honorable mention to Gloria Estefan, who comes the closest.)

Here is my Christmas Wish List:

MAC Heirloom Face Brush Set - Source: Nordstrom.com

MAC fans can never have enough MAC products, especially the brushes. This face brush set is a great for traveling. (Sidebar: Readers, please let me know if your thoughts on MAC loose beauty powders.)

Christian Louboutin Pink Satin Peep Toe - Source: NeimanMarcus.com

Whoa lurdie, I love this Pink Satin Peep Toe Sandal by Christian Louboutin. These shoes are wonderful addition to any closet. I would pair them with an understated wrap dress, so the high-heeled marvel can be the focal point of the outfit.

Or maybe I will wear the peep toe sandal with a sassy apron while I bake some goodies for Mr. Maven. Before I bake, I need to get the KitchenAid 5-Quart stand mixer in a soft Pink. Now, if I could get one in fuschia, that would be super great!

I have always wanted another Louis Vuitton. When I was younger, my grandmother gave me one of her older Vuittons and I was so pleased to have it. I wore it out, until a strap fell off! LOL!! I am in love with the Trouville bag. Hmm maybe I need 2. 🙂

I love Neiman Marcus!! My aunt M likes to call “Neiman Marcus Last Call Sale”, “The First to Last Call Sale” because she does not think the prices are discounted enough. That being said, I want a Neiman Marcus gift card. Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up Christmas morning and get a $1,000 NM gift card. Yes, adults can dream too!! 🙂

Neiman Marcus Gift Card

Since I enjoy reading, I want gift cards from Barnes and Noble and/or Borders. I love to collect home decor books and I also love a nice fiction read. I am backlogged…need to continue Zadie Smith’s On Beauty and Sophia Kinsella’s Confessions of a Shopaholic.
